Weekend Recap {10/2/15}

Kyle is still out of town for work. Womp Womp...

I had a very unproductive but relaxing weekend! Friday night I stayed home and started Killing Kennedy. It's an awesome book! I love history and especially this time period. It really made me think about how someone can be famous for accomplishing amazing things, but not be a good person at times. (MLKJr.)

Saturday morning BRIGHT AND EARLY I headed to Columbia to meet my dad for the Mizzou game. I've been doing really well drinking water, but that also meant I had to stop to use the restroom. I hate that! I'd so much rather go straight through. Public bathrooms gross me out.

My dad and I somehow managed to exit at the exact same time and met by the Engineering building. We walked down to Aunt Janice & Uncle Steve's tailgate at AEPi to meet up with the fam. They do a great job and had tons of food, drinks, and a tv to watch the game on.

I had to use the bathroom again so I walked over and met Nicole at DG to see her house and room. It's interesting to see Greek Town because most of the houses are being completely renovated or torn down. DU is a monstrosity...which is a good thing. That place was disgusting. I have fond memories of slipping in beer in their basement and my butt being covered in filth. Anyway, DG has plans to be torn down next Spring. It reminded me of Chi O when I lived there. Everything was worn and pretty old. It had that same fried- Chi O smell too!

My dad and I headed to the game shortly after and laughed at all the rumors floating around about what happened to our starting QB. He was suspended indefinitely and the rumor mill was all over the place! Our back up quarterback, Drew Lock, is a Lee's Summit kid. It was so fun getting to see him and know that our entire town was so excited for him! He did a great job and we came out with a win!

After the game we headed to Shakespeare's for pizza. It isn't my favorite, but everywhere downtown had over an hour wait. It was so nice to catch up with my dad. He's not a huge phone talker so spending the day together was fun! On the way home I stopped at my favorite store (Homegoods!) and found lamps for our bedroom. This makes me so happy! We have had our furniture since June and I've either been too picky, or indecisive in picking out lamps. It's the small things!

I might have had chocolate chip cookies for dinner. Oops

Sunday was spent cleaning the house and reading Killing Kennedy. I finished it mid-afternoon! Such a great read! Our house is spotless which feels so great! I forgot a load of laundry all last week WHOOPS!

On a happy note, Kyle gets home on WEDNESDAY!!!
