July Goals

June was such a fun and busy month! Kyle was gone most of the month and I was absorbed in making the last few weeks of school memorable for my kiddo's.

In July I have BIG plans!

Teaching Goals:

1. Finish Presentation for Google Summit Conference

My Co-Teacher, Jeni, our Blended Learning Coach, Susan, and I are presenting three different sessions at the upcoming Google Summit Conference in two weekends. I have been putting off getting my info together to present and it's getting close to clutch time.

2. Clean out cabinets:
We moved in to our building 72 hours before school started and merged two classrooms and about 100 boxes. We also had boxes of new materials, tools, etc. All of it got shoved into our cabinets and the rest went to the building's basement. We put it off all year, but couldn't find things when we needed them. It's time to get organized!

3. Pull materials for book clubs
We are a digital learning school, but there's just something about sitting with a group of kids with a book in your hands that can't b beat. I love Reading and sharing this passion with my kiddo's. I can't wait to find a few great novels to start the year!

4. Write Math Units for Multiplication/Division and Geometry
I was very hesitant when Jeni said she wanted to take a step back from our Math curriculum and write our own plans. She knocked it out of the park with that unit and I totally bought in. I'd like to look at some of our other large units and do the same thing. We never have the time to do this during the year though.

5. Plan and Refresh PBL Units for Beginning of School Year
August will be here before we know it! I'd love to tackle a few new Project Based Learning Units for next year and polish a few of our existing units.

 Personal Goals:
1. Wipe down all baseboards
Ugh. Ughhhhh I hate cleaning these. They never look perfect to me and it hurts my knees, butt, etc. I usually try to really get after it over winter break and I never did this year. It needs to happen!

2. Clean/Wipe Down Blinds
I started this and was able to knock out the five windows in the kitchen. I need to do the five HUGE windows in the living room and all of the upstairs windows still. It is so tedious to take each slat out of the blind thing, but it makes a huge difference (at least to me). BRING IT!

3. Clean out guest bedroom closet
This became the catch all for gift wrapping, presents, wedding stuff from two years ago, college text books, old CD's, and other random junk. It became worse when we cleaned out the office room to make it into a third guest room. This closet needs help!

4.Eat lunch with Courtney and Chase!

Courtney is my best friend. She also lives about an hour away now. Boo...
We need to make a better effort at seeing each other during the summer when our schedules aren't as full. I love getting to catch up and see little Chase man!

5. Meal Plan for the two weeks we are home.
Kyle was gone the whole month of June which left me eating cereal, poptarts, cookie dough (shh), and other random stuff for dinner. We typically pick a few meals for the week and grocery shop each Sunday evening. This helps with the budget and eating healthy. I missed it!

6. Find a new mascara and use Sephora Gift Cards
I am not a fan of my current mascara. I have not so great lashes and my mascara just isn't doing it for me. I have also had about $50 in gift cards to Sephora since Christmas.

7. Start Christmas Shopping
Last year I was able to get most of our Christmas Shopping done while I was off work in July.  We both have large families and this helps spread out the costs. I have a google doc that I add ideas to throughout the year which also helps. I like to get meaningful gifts and I hate just buying things last minute so this gets me started!
